Dr Eva Vall presents 6 hours of LIVE in-person online training in Guided Self Help for Eating Disorders (October) | Zoom TIME: 9:30am - 4pm with 30 min lunch break (all times are in AEDT) TITLE: Guided Self Help CBT for Eating Disorders TRAINING SUMMARY: Guided Self Help for (GSH) is an underutilised but important treatment option for non-underweight eating disorders, particularly those presenting with binge features. This workshop will cover the following: - How GSH fits into the stepped-care model of eating disorder treatment - Theoretical background and evidence base supporting the use of GSH for eating disorders - Detailed guide on how to implement GSH in clinical practice, with opportunity to practice key concepts - How to manage issues when providing GSH in a real-world clinical setting The course will be interactive and include group discussions, small group discussions and individual activities. LEARNING OUTCOMES: - Understand the theoretical background and evidence-base supporting CBT-GSH - Describe how CBT-GSH fits into the stepped care model of treatment for eating disorders to determine suitability of CBT-GSH for client group - Obtain the knowledge and skills to effectively deliver CBT-GSH in clinical practice ***NEDC has assessed this training as meeting the requirements outlined in the NEDC National Framework for Eating Disorder Training for an evidence-based treatment model training.*** ABOUT THE PRESENTER: Dr Eva Vall has been working in the eating disorder field for over a decade. She has worked in both public and private practice and in inpatient and outpatient settings. Dr Vall currently sees individuals across the full spectrum of eating disorder diagnoses in her private practice. Alongside her clinical role, Dr Vall is heavily involved in providing training and supervision to clinicians in the eating disorder space.
