You're in the right place if...
...you binge or feel out of control around food
...you're stuck in the restrict-binge cycle
...your eating or body image has shifted on weight loss medication or after surgery
...your body image is causing distress at any weight
...you eat to cope with emotions
...your concerns have been brushed off or missed by other providers
...you're not sure your eating is "bad enough" to get help
You don't need a diagnosis or a crisis to book a call.
How it works
-
Book a free introductory call
A 15-minute private conversation with one of our psychologists to understand your situation, explain how treatment works, ask some general mental health questions, and make sure we're the right fit.
-
Get matched with the right psychologist
We match you with a psychologist based on your specific concerns - eating, weight, body image, or a combination. You'll know what to expect before your first session.
- Start structured treatment
Treatment is goal-focused, time-limited, and tailored to you. Weekly sessions initially, with a clear plan - designed to create lasting change, not keep you in therapy indefinitely.
What treatment looks like
Our approach is different from what you might expect from psychology.

We use structured, evidence-based treatments - not open-ended talk therapy. That means there's a plan from the start, clear goals we're working towards, and a defined course of treatment.

Most people don't need to be in therapy for years. They need the right approach, with a course of treatment, delivered consistently.

Sessions are weekly to start with. The research shows weekly sessions lead to faster recovery and fewer sessions overall. Once the active phase of treatment is done, we step down to less frequent sessions or discharge.

We offer sessions in person at our East Melbourne clinic or via telehealth Australia-wide.

About CEWBI
The Centre for Eating, Weight and Body Image (CEWBI) is a private psychology clinic in East Melbourne. Our team of psychologists and a dietitian work with eating, weight and body image concerns.
Our Clinical Director is Professor Leah Brennan, a clinical and health psychologist whose research focuses on eating, weight and body image concerns in community samples. She co-authored the first international clinical practice guidelines for eating disorders in people with higher weight.

We treat eating and body image concerns at any weight - without making weight loss the goal of treatment, and without asking you to pretend that your weight doesn't matter to you.
